...is a sort of music collective, especially in the future, but mostly the work of a brother and also sister. Started as the solo project of 23 year old multi-instrumentalist Garrison Owen York, the work has now expanded to include Carly Howard (visit!). As of late, there have been audible advancements at Saltlands Studio in Brooklyn, NY. (Thank you Steve.) The theater group, Sparrowtree (visit!) has also been founded, which strives to produce off-beat musicals accompanied by live Wilderness Rock music. Inspiration found in nature, and the nature of humans, voids, space and the love of all of that, drives creations uninhibited by any forced idea of a relatable sound. A move was made recently from the center of the continent to the nearly-most-northern coast, where weather is found to be similar in its eccentricity yet vastly different in how its mood casts about the experiencing people. A lot of guitars are used and voices, sometimes that's all. For the band, creating music is an endeavor in which things like apples falling and orbits of hunks in space are important deals. So far, there are two records to enjoy, both self-produced, recorded and mixed in bedrooms, yards, or vans - as Tenderfoot Studios - by the band. Each showcases a different take on atmospheric folk and a scent of rock n' rolling, but is a sound yet still able to be made in particular vastness, or wilderness. (One more than the other, as a many-year-long mood and theme matured.)
